Feed-Educate-Serve

Proudly serving Minden and the surrounding communities in Webster Parish for 13 years now, our mission is to serve people that are living below the USDA poverty level by providing monthly food assistance. Our clients primarily live in Minden, Louisiana but we do serve clients in the immediately surrounding cities.
What we do? Families that have a hard time making ends meet at the end of the month and that meet USDA poverty guidelines can sign up to receive food assistance at no cost to them. People need to know that when they face hard times they are not alone. Our vision is to meet the immediate need by providing food but we also work hard to form relationships with our clients in order to connect them with other resources in our area that may meet other needs they have. Ultimately we hope to treat the problems that result in hunger in our community. Other needs include job placement, counseling services or Veteran's aid and financial education. Many times, families in lower income households get trapped in a cycle of eating cheap food with a low nutritional value eventually leading to medical problems. We are committed to providing healthier options for our clients. As a part of this commitment we started Minden's first community garden in 2017. When can I get involved? Anytime! Our distribution is the 3rd Saturday of every month from 9-11. Volunteers are needed throughout the month to pack bags, help with mail outs, deliver to our home bound clients and help with distribution.
